New Year, New School

 

Today I start a new journey in the world of education! ⁣

⁣

After 6 hard, funny, exhausting, emotionally draining, and so completely fulfilling my purpose in life helping these kids by teaching Art, Stanly Count Schools decided to close down the Alternative High School, Stanly Academy Learning Center) that was so near and dear to my heart. ⁣(sorry for the run-on sentence!)

⁣

Every single student that graduated from SALC would not have their HS Diploma if it weren't for myself and our amazing staff. We made a real difference in SO many students lives. ⁣

⁣

I went through the 5 stages of grief. I lost my job that I loved & my cannot-say-enough-positive-things-about staff family, and my needy, creative, and precious "kids". My heart was broken....not only for me, but especially for these students that needed this unique and special space to thrive. I continue to pray that my students will be ok as they transition to their home schools and that they will graduate. ⁣

I thought I could never be excited about teaching again, but God has bigger ideas than we do, and things do have a way of working out...lol.⁣

⁣

And so, I am the new CTE Marketing and Sports & Entertainment teacher at Montgomery County High School! I have had nothing but positive vibes from everyone in Montgomery County, including Mount Gilead Elementary School where the boys will be going this fall.⁣

I am leaving this summer as a Soaring Eagle, and begining this fall as a Fierce Timberwolf.⁣
